FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed has showered encomiums on the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero as a great symbol of Nigeria’s unity in diversity as well as a leader who cherished peaceful co-existence among Nigerians. He described him as an outstanding man of peace and an epitome of the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

In his condolence message to the bereaved family, the Government and people of Kano State as well as Nigerians generally, the Minister said the news of the death of the frontline traditional ruler came to him as a rude shock.

Senator Bala Mohammed stressed: “For those of us in the FCT in particular, the death of the charismatic and colourful royal father  is a devastating blow because of his immense contributions to the peace and unity of the country. In the last 50 years of his glorious reign as the Emir of Kano, he remained a shining example in building bridges of unity and peaceful co-existence not only in Kano but Nigeria as a whole.
