PRESS RELEASE
>> On behalf of the entire Christian community in Nigeria under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), I wish to condole with the Bayero family, the Kano emirate, the government and people of Kano State over the demise of the Emire of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
>> It is with shock that I receive the news of the demise of the revered traditional ruler and an icon of the Kano emirate council and an elder statesman who stood for the peace and unity of Nigeria at all times.
>> The Christian Association of Nigeria mourns with the family of the deceased, the members of the emirate council and the entire people of Kano over the great loss.
>> The death of Ado Bayero is indeed a huge loss to the nation, his family and his community especially at a time when his wise counsel is most needed to help tackle moral decadence in our society and the growing menace of insurgency ravaging parts of our dear country.
>> The Emir will be remembered for his stand against terrorism even at the expense of his life and a position that endeared him to many people from far and near.
>> As a father of faith, I urge his family, the people of Kano and friends of the deceased to take solace in the fact that he lived a good life that is worthy of emulation and call on Nigerians to pray for the repose of his soul.
>>
>> At times like this all we can do as humans is to thank the almighty for he alone knows best why he had to take him away from us especially from his family.
>>
>> All we can do for now is to focus on the good things that he had always wanted us do for our dear country especially to fight insurgency from our land.
>> I call on Nigerians to be united in the legacies of the late emir and join forces with the Federal Government to fight terrorism from our land.
>>
>>
>> Once again, I condole with the Ado Bayero family, the Kano Emirate Council and the entire government and people of Kano state over the demise of the emir and pray for his eternal rest.
