The Association of Former Special Assistants to Gov. Theodore Orji from the three local governments of Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South and Osisoma has vowed to back any candidate anointed by the governor in 2015.

Addressing newsmen at the end of its meeting at Osisioma Ngwa LGA, chairman of the group, Chief Obinna Nwachukwu, commended the governor for his insistence that power must shift to Ukwa/Ngwa zone in 2015, stressing that Abia need a successor who will build on the numerous legacy projects of the governor.

“We, the Former Special Assistants for Gov. Theodore Orji, 2011 Batch, commend the governor for insisting that power will shift to Ukwa/ Ngwa zone in 2015.We will gladly throw our weight behind any candidate anointed by Ochendo. We salute Ochendo’s courage to insist on power shift because he succeeded where others feared to tread. This is something the Ukwa/Ngwa people has fought for with guns and machete over the years but failed. We are grateful to Gov. Theodore Orji for giving it to Ukwa/ Ngwa people free of charge. He is leader who is greatly concerned about the peaceful co-existence of component units of the state.”

The former aides who hails from the three local government areas popularly known as “Umunneato”, also commended the governor, his wife, Mercy Odochi and son, Engr. Chinedum Orji for their numerous empowerment and skill acquisition programmes which it said have made beneficiaries truly self dependent.

“Ochendo has continued to show class in his governance of the state with the caliber of projects he has undertaken. A certain administration in Abia State empowered people with wheel barrows and shovels during its tenure but Gov. Theodore Orji has been given out cars and buses to empower the people and make them truly self dependent. We have lost count of bungalows built by the First Lady, Chief Mrs Mercy Orji for the less privileged people across the state. We also commend the efforts of the leader of the youths in the state, Engr. Chinedum Orji for his love for the youths of the state.”
