Woman Police Corporal serving at Central Police Station, Onitsha, Anambra State, W/Cpl Nkechi Okwah who is married to a man at Umuchu in Aguata local council area, Anambra State was few days ago arrested, interrogated, detained and released on bail by one of the police stations in the state for allegedly stealing the sum of (#500,000.00) Five Hundred Thousand Naira and other property belonging to her younger sister, Miss Chigozie Okwah therefore going contrarily to the oath of allegiance she took while joining the force in 2001
W/Cpl Nkechi with force number: 024980 was accused to have fallen into the mess after divorcing her husband and returned back to her mother, Mrs. Grace Okwah whom 247ureports learnt has also separated from her husband, Mr. Ephraim Okwah for over ten years now, only for the both accused divorcées to joined together and settled in a batcher at Central Police Station, Onitsha before it was dismantled by the authorities of the Nigeria police force.
Having noticed that her mother and elder sister were squatting outside the police station, following the dismantling of the batcher that was housing both divorcees, Miss Chigozie who is a landlady of No. 24 Akachukwu Street Awada-Obosi, graciously took them to one of her self-contained rooms in her compound aimed at shattering them at need.
Instead of reciprocating the gesture of the girl who had loaned money even from her enemies in procuring the landed property and erecting structures in it, the duos in crime allegedly ganged up and forced their landlady out of the compound on the ground that the compound ought to be family property considering the fact that the foresighted Miss. Chigozie Okwah is yet to settle with her heartthrob, whom it was gathered also made much impact financially in making sure that the compound housing nine shops and four rooms- self-contain was built.
Speaking when contacted, Miss Chigozie Okwah in her own words said; “I bought my property now in dispute from one Barrister Azubuike Anazo with his chambers at No. 5 Oguta Road, Onitsha and the documents are intact with me. I had borrowed N2m from one Chief Mark Anyikwa who gave the loan under the agreement that after erecting structure(s) in the land, the tenants will be paying their rents into his account till the loan expire and from 2010, my tenants have been complying, not until my mother and my elder sister came in and hounded me away from the housing I laboured under rain and sun to built” she lamented..
247ureports reliably gathered that while the divorcees forcefully took over the sweet of Miss Chigozue Okwah, the embattled woman police corporal allegedly got access to the room apartment of her landlady, (Miss Chigozie Okwah) ransacked the room and made away with the over said sum and other valuable property.
Referencing Pastor Emmanuel Ifeadike of Green Passion Church and Rev. Nwokedi of Emmanuel Anglican Church both in Onitsha as the clergies Cpl Nkechi Okwah persuaded to assist them in resolving the matter with Miss Chigozie Okwah probably for having noted what the consequences could fetch them at last, sources within the already brawled family said the men of God after listening to both parties, advised the suspects to return back the alleged stolen items back to the owner.
“The case was brought before me by Nkechi Okwah who is a police officer. When she approached me, she pleaded that I as a man of God should intervene in the matter between her and her younger sister, I called both of them and it was then that Nkechi owned it up that it was their mother who tore the bag of Chigozie and took away #500,000.00” Rev. Nwokedi of Emmanuel narrated through his GSM when contacted.
Capping the shameful and heart breaking story up, the father of the sisters that are on each others’ throat over landed property, Mr. Ephraim Okwah said that he has for long warned Nkech not to foment trouble against the person that has helped in shattering them.
He made it known that the property in dispute belonged to Miss Chigozie Okwah, stating that it is not a family property as him and the rest members of his family never contributed anything to his daughter while buying and erecting structure(s) in the compound.
Mr. Ephraim accused the mother of the children now at war of having written the script of crisis in his family. He went further and informed this reporter that the woman with many children abandoned him and allegedly became a notorious flirt in Onitsha, Anambra State for over ten years now. Mr. Okwah while promising to wade into the matter also appealed to his children to kindly haul the pat of peace than washing the family’s dirty linings in public.
