Police Arrest Notorious Child Traffickers; Recovers Military AK 47 from Bandit in Anambra

The policemen attached with Okpoko Police Division in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state in their bid to rid the area out of the men with questionable character has arrested one Mrs. Ogochukwu Nwakpa, Christina Egbo and Angelina Opeke accused to have specialized in stealing and trafficking children from Okpoko to other parts of the country.

 

The suspects who are now assisting the Anti-trafficking section at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Awka according to police sources will soon be charged to court even as it was gathered that Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs through the Child Development has stepped into the matter in making sure that mothers who safe-guarded their own children only to traffic other children will not escape the full weight of the law.

In a related development, police detectives from Okpoko Police Division who are trained to sniff the movement of people at the federal roads across the area yesterday recovered military AK 47 rifle with 12 live ammunitions while the man conveying the war materials according to an eyewitness account bailed himself through his two legs when he took to his heels to avoid police arrest.

 

The detectives, 247ureports learnt suspected the man with sack bag and in trying to ascertain the content of the bag, the conveyer dropped  the bag, having known the content and for the police not to shoot an innocent citizens making use of the high way, they were incapacitated to fire at the bandit

When contacted for comment, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Okpoko Police Division, CSP Emeka Ugwu confirmed the incidents, stating that the suspected traffickers has been transferred to the SCID Awka even as he declined to comment more on the achievement recorded by the policemen under his command. The DPO however referred this reporter to state police command for more and clear picture of the story..
