It has come to the notice of the newly elected leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing that some reactionary elements under the auspices of a non-existing group tagged South East Youth Consultative Forum are poised to distract this leadership from our onerous task of re-positioning the personality and psyche of the Igbo youth in particular and NdiIgbo In general in the socio-political web called Nigeria.
In their reaction to an on-the-spot but sincere interview granted by the National Leader of the Ohanaeze NdiIgbo Youth Wing Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, where he demanded that the President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan should redouble his efforts of commensurably rewarding NdiIgbo for their unwavering support for his 2011 election, as that will form the basis for further support come 2015. The SEYCF sought to gain cheap popularity by trying to pitch the youths of Igboland against the President through malicious misinterpretation and disinformation.
We wish to state that, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing is not at war with the President; we remain non partisan, belonging neither to the ruling party or any of the opposition parties. The good of NdiIgbo remains our focal point.
We acknowledge the fact that Mr. President has done well in terms of patronages and infrastructural development in Igboland, but more are still begging to be done, especially in the area of qualitative youth empowerment.
On the issue of the Niger Delta Empowerment, we are of the strong opinion that Igbo youths in the oil producing regions should also benefit from the empowerment programmes going on in the region as the degradation of the environment does not discriminate between Igbo-oil producing areas and those currently benefitting from the Amnesty programme, hence Igbo youths within the region should be beneficiaries of the programme. This will in no way stop the government from putting in place plans, programmes, and policies that will stimulate economic growth in Igboland in line with the entrepreneurial spirit of NdiIgbo.
We wish to use this forum to appreciate the immediate past governor of Anambra State Chief. Peter Obi for his unrivalled efforts aimed at taking Igboland to heights hitherto unimagined through the establishment of qualitative extractive and manufacturing industries that will in no distant time make Igboland the industrial hub of not just Nigeria but the entire African continent.
Finally, we wish to state that we are aware that the group South East Youth Consultative Forum is a hurriedly packaged organisation put together and financed by a South-East Presidential aide who has been blacklisted for personalising monies communally owned by the Igbo nation. We can never be distracted by your antics as your master should be ready to return everything he has stolen from Ndigbo while pretending to be a patriot.
We have been following the clandestine moves of this schemer, whose sole aim is to destabilise the Igbo Apex socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo so as to make it easier for him to go scotch free with our communal wealth which he is presently holding tight to.
We are also aware of his failed desire to infiltrate the ranks of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing in the last election, and his sponsorship of a spineless group known as Ohanaeze Youth Organisation based in Abuja the Nigerian capital.
We know the true Igbo patriots, and your paymaster is surely not one.
