In what observers of Zamfara politics use to say business as usual, the rumor of former minister of communication Alh Ikra Aliyu Bilbis decamping to the All Progressive Congress became a reality when Zamfara governor finally set up 19th April 2014 to formally welcome him to the party.
Many sensed that, this prediction will see the light of the day when the former minister openly attended the swearing in ceremony of his political ally Tijjani Yahaya Kaura when he was made the new Zamfara SSG at the state government house Gusau sometime last month.
Ikra Aliyu Bilbis who hailed from Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State, will be welcomed to the party by the state governor Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar and other national leaders of the party amidst controversy that trailed the party during the just concluded ward and local government congresses even in his constituency Tsafe.
Five questions are awaiting answers on Saturday after the ceremony especially on how Ikra Aliyu Bilbis will be accomadated in APC alongside some popular political power brokers from his senatorial Zone.
1) Can Ikra Aliyu Bilbis make it to the senate when the like of Kabiru Marafa and Malami Aliyu Yandoto are still in the party?
2) Can he defeats Zamfara serving Speaker Alh Sanusi Rikiji who is nursing an un reversing ambition to contest for the house of representative for Gusau and Tsafef federal constituency as he joins the party?
3) Is there any space for him in the current cabinet of governor Yari to honor him the way Tijjani Yahaya Kaura was rewarded with the position of SSG?
4) If yes which political appointment can fit him in the Yaris’s cabinet as former Council Chairman and former minister of communication in the federal republic of Nigeria?
5) Is Ikra Aliyu politically relevance in the politics of Zamfara Central under the APC when people like Aliyu Abubakar Tsafe from his constituency are busy setting strong campaign machineries for the governor’s return bid in the 2015 general election?
