Man, 35, was recently accused of allegedly murdering his brother, cousin and attempting setting a house ablaze at Ikot Nkim Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, over an unknown cause.
247ureports.com gathered that the alleged criminal known as Uwem Sunday Job who is a resident of Ikot Nkim, Ibesikpo Asutan local government was said to have escaped the scene after committing the murderous act before residents could catch up with him.
The unfortunate victims were; Mr. Ezekiel Sunday Job (40), brother; and Mr. Akaniyene Okon Job (45), cousin, both residents of Ikot Nkim, Ibesikpo, Asutan.
According to an eye witness, Ekemini Okon Job who happened to be at the scene before the incident hinted our correspondent that the death of his brother and cousin came as a shock since there was no family issue to warrant such inhuman act.
He said, “Uwem came to the family house at about 8am, looking for my elder brother (Akaniyene) saying that he had something to tell him.
He was with a sharp matchet which he kept hidden behind his back and a black 25 litres keg which I mistook for palmy not knowing that it was petrol.
“The moment Akaniyene came out of his room, Uwem butchered him with the matchet and chased after me when he knew that I saw him.
Ekemini continued, “I had to run for my life to raise alarm for residents to come out.
While I ran to seek for help, Uwem went back to the house to pour petrol round the house in order to set the house on fire”.
However, the family members of the deceased discovered that the alleged criminal had murdered his brother (Ezekiel) few minutes before killing his cousin (Akaniyene).
A member of the family, Mrs. Christina, Ekong who was also present at the scene stated that she heard her younger brother screaming that someone had been killed and the house was about to be set ablaze.
“I heard Ekemini screaming saying that Uwem had killed someone and he was about to set the house on fire.
So I immediately ran out through the back door to raise an alarm not knowing that Uwem had already killed Ezekiel at the other family house before coming here to kill Akaniyene.
