Williams/Nottidge street Traders under the umbrella of Abada Textile Materials Traders Association, Onitsha are now in wide jubilation over the plans by the market executives to relocate the market to their new site.
The new market which is now nearing its final stage of completion is expected to be completed by June this year to pave way for the relocation of the entire traders before the end of the year.
The new site which covers an area of 42,860,899 square meters had about 2,600 shops with modern market facilities such as: parking lots, toilets, bank, bore-hole, restaurant  and security house attached to it.
According to the chairman of Abada Textile materials Dealers Association, Onitsha, Chief Paul Ibeneme said the planned relocation of the traders to a new site was in line with the law by the Anambra State House of Assembly under the administration of the Senator Chris Ngige banning street trading in the State.
Chief Ibeneme, aka Igirigi told newsmen that the desire to park into their new site was also necessitated by high rent charged by landlords on whose properties the traders were transacting their businesses and posited that there was no going back in the planned relocation as their present landlords were in the habit of incessant increase of shop rents.
The market boss asserted that the market which he described as one of the best in the State was meant for both the average and rich traders in their fold and enumerated the immense benefits derivable from relocating to the new site which is located at the bank of River Niger (Niger Bridge).
He commended all those who contributed in making the market project a reality, adding that the new market was positioned at the entrance of Onitsha metropolis.
