Senator Abdullahi Adamu has declared that with their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), the PDP, as a party died a natural death in Nasarawa state.

The former Nasarawa state governor stated this at the headquarters of Toto local government area, during the flagging off of campaigns for the local government election scheduled to hold this week Saturday.

Adamu, in a goodwill message, described the APC as a platform for progressives – to usher in change and development in the state and across the country.

โ€œWith our defection to APC, the PDP is dead in Nasarawaโ€, Adamu declared before a mammoth crowd that turned up for the event.

He urged the people of Toto to support the administration of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, to enable him continue with the ongoing development strides.

โ€œI urge you to support the APC so that together we can sweep away the flagrant abuse of public trust, corruption and impunity, as being exemplified in the PDP administrationโ€, Sen Adamu said.

On his part, Governor Al-makura restated his commitment to deliver much needed dividends of democracy to the people, stressing that they were in Toto to show support for Mohammed Musa General, the partyโ€™s chairmanship candidate in the coming council polls.

While calling on the people to support his administration to enable him to continue with his developmental stride, Al-makura promised that he will soon install a new Ohinoyi Ogye, the paramount ruler of Toto, as well as create new chiefdoms for ease of administration.

Earlier in an opening remark, Arc Stanley Buba, state interim chairman of the APC, while presenting the chairmanship candidate and his deputy, stated that the APC is merely fulfilling all righteousness as according to him, the opposition PDP has not prepared for the council polls.

โ€œAPC is the only party that legally qualifies to contest in the election because it is common knowledge that PDP did not conduct any primary electionโ€, he said.

Arc Stanley informed the crowd that his party is set to clinch all the chairmanship slots from across the 13 local government areas in the state.
