The 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, has urged the public not to panic over massive movement of troops, equipment and sound of gunshots at Igwuruta area of Rivers.

The call is contained in a statement issued by Capt. Adeleke Alah, the Deputy Army Public Relations Officer of the brigade on Friday in Port Harcourt.

The statement quoted Alah as saying the brigade and its 5 Battalion would commence annual shooting exercise from Monday, March 17 to Thursday, March 22 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

He added that the exercise would hold at the Army Shooting Range, Igwuruta community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

“The five-day exercise is a routine training that aims to enhance the proficiency of officers and soldiers in weapon handling and marksmanship,’’ he added.

Alah urged the public to avoid the shooting area during the period of the exercise.
