Governors and political leaders from the south-east M…geographical zone of the country met at Government House Enugu yesterday to foster regional cooperation.
The meeting which lasted for over five hours witnessed the presence of religious and traditional leaders.
While addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting, Chairman, South-East Governors Forum, Mr. Peter Obi of Anambra State, said: “this meeting comprises of political leaders of this region.
“We met and agreed to continue to work together for the overall interest of the region. The discussion will continue and we are working towards economic cooperation to foster the growth of the region.
The Chairman was accompanied to the briefing by Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, Elechi Martin, Ebonyi, Deputy Governor, Imo State, Prince Madumere, Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela.
