The Police in Aba, Abia State have recovered the sum of N1.4million from armed robbers who stormed a warehouse at East Street by Hospital road where they robbed traders of their money.

Eyewitness accounts hinted that 3 armed robbers who operated in a tricycle with registration number, Abia, UNC 076 VX raided a warehouse at 185 Hospital road where they seized hand bags from traders.
As the robbery was going on, policemen from the Aba Area Command who were alerted to the development approached the area. On sighting the battle ready policemen, the robbers dumped the money they have collected from the traders as well as their guns and ran into the crowd of traders.
According to sources, the robbers could not be arrested as they mixed up with the traders leading to confusion as people ran helter skelter. The situation made it impossible for the police the robbers.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia state command, ASP Ogbonna Geoffrey proved futile, but a senior police officer who preferred anonymity confirmed the incident, stressing that the police have declared a manhunt for the fleeing robbers.
He estimated the amount of cash recovered from the robbers to be around N1, 447,800.
