A total of N298m was earmark by the Jigawa state government to host
national qurani competition shedule to take place in the 14 of
February this year the state commissioner of information Alhaji Haruna
wakili said in the press conference at the state ministry the
commissioner said N50% out of the total amount will come from the
state government while 45% will come from the local government
councils in the state and the remain 5% will be contributed from
individual in the state.
The commissioner said the state government has made all the necessary
arrangement to establish all the necessary facilities for the
competition right from accommodation arrangement ,medical
arrangement, security arrangement and publicity as well as documentation
and committee was formed to supervised the committee.
the commissioner said himself was appointed as the chairman of the
organizing committee of the occasion assuring that Jigawa state was
mandated to organized the national quaranic competition to host this
year competition because in 2011 jigawa state government play a
greater role in hosting the national quaranic competition
Explained 44 members were drawn to participate from various ministry
in the state and individual in the committee in which seven
commissioners and other government functinaries to be members in the
committee of the national quranic competition also traditional rulers
and ulamas are also to help members in the committee to ensure success
of their duty.
During the occasion Hon speaker from the national assembly Aminu
waziri tambuwal is expected to be the special guest and osun state
governor would be the chairman of the occasion while the sultan of
sokoto will be the royal further of the day and assured that 25 emirs
drawn from various state of the federation are expected to grace the
ceremony.
Adding that the chief imam from the university of Nigeria Nsukka will
deliver a paper titled the importance of the holy quaran in the life
of muslim while lamaran yero the governor of kaduna state will be at
the occasion and participant from the 27 state of the federation are
expected to bring 10 delegate that will participate in the competition
.
Adding that the Lagos state governor fashola will be the national
chairman of the occasion while guest speaker of the opening day is
chief imam and also head of arabic department from the university of
ilorin and malam muhammed bin yusif from university of madina would be
a special guest from the interantional body
Wakili further stated that hajia Amina sule lamido would asist the
wife of the deputy president hajia namaddi sambo in turberning the
women who happened to be among the successful at the competition adding
that accommodation was provided to host important guest and other
national observers within and out side the country
explained that security is provided to ensure safty of lives and
property during and after the competition assuring that all necessary
logistic were provided for the succes of the exersice explained that
brand new cars ,brand new laptop,and money were kept to the winners
who succeded in the competition
