Iranian State Television aired a simulated attack on Israel and the U.S. on Friday, purportedly in retaliation for a potential strike, the Times of Israel reported. The film, entitled “The Nightmare of Vultures” and using computer-generated animation,  shows major Israeli cities and sites getting bombed by Iranian drones and missiles, including Ben Gurion Airport and the nuclear reactor in Dimona.

The movie, set to a theatrical soundtrack, opens with Ayatollah Khamenei telling military graduates “Anybody who thinks of attacking the Islamic Republic of Iran should be prepared to receive strong slaps and iron fists from the Armed Forces.”

In one scene, a bomb strikes the Kirya, Israel’s Defense Ministry headquarters, while former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Former Defense Minister Amir Peretz are inside having a meeting.

Iranian missiles and drones are also shown hitting the USS Abraham Lincoln, an American aircraft carrier stationed in the Personal Gulf.

The video comes at the same time as reports by a senior Iranian naval commander that Iran sent several warships to the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, close to U.S. maritime borders.

The commander of Iran’s Northern Navy Fleet, Admiral Afshin Rezayee Haddad, is quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying Saturday that the vessels have already begun the journey to the Atlantic Ocean via waters near South Africa.

According to a report in semi-official news agency Fars, the admiral said that “Iran’s military fleet is approaching the United States’ maritime borders, and this move has a message.”

Iran has vowed a crushing response if it were attacked by Israel or the U.S. and said it is prepared for all possibilities.

In a televised interview that aired Saturday, Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami said Iran has plans in place to strike the U.S. from within in the event it is attacked first.

“The U.S. [threat of a] military option is of no care to us,” Salami said, according to the semi-official Fars news agency. “They can use this option but should take the responsibility for its destructive consequences too,” he added.

Salami said that Iran has identified possible attack scenarios against Iran “including air, missile and limited ground incursion…all possibilities have been studied and we have complete intelligence superiority in all these cases and operational strategies,” he was quoted as saying.
