Former Spokesperson of Afenifere and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not rule the State beyond this year.

Adeyeye, who said he was confident that PDP will win the June 21, 2014 governorship election, added that; “It is obvious that Ekiti people are tired of the APC government and they will definitely send the government packing with their votes on June 21, 2014.”

Speaking during a meeting with Local Government Coordinators of his campaign organisation, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) in Ado-Ekiti today, the governorship hopeful said “the people are eagerly waiting for the PDP to pick its candidate and the moment our candidate emerges, which by the grace of God will be me, it will be glaring to Governor Kayode Fayemi that his time is up.”

The governorship aspirant reiterated his appealed to the State government to pay gratuities of pensioners who retired in the State since last year and Local Government (LG) Health workers’ Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS).

He said; “Anyone who have listened to the advert being ran on radio by retired teachers to congratulate Fayemi on his 49th birthday will know that the people are tired of this present government. If teachers, who retired since last year have not been paid their gratuity and are not receiving pension yet, and the teachers could go to the extent of sponsoring radio adverts to beg the governor to pay them their entitlements, the time of this government is up.

“These teachers know that when PDP was in government in the state, pensioners received their gratuity within 60 days of retirement while pension was paid on the 22nd of the month. If today, those who retired since last year are yet to receive their gratuity, where will the votes that will return Fayemi to the office for his second term come from?

“Therefore, it is certain that we will win the June 21 election, and the task before us as loyal members of the PDP is to remain focussed and continue to work in unity.”

He urged the Local Government Coordinators to double their mobilisation efforts for the party, even as they prepare for the party primary election and the INEC voters registration exercise.
