Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)and front line governorship aspirant in Abia State, Barr. Friday Nwosu has called on the people of the South East zone to shun the All Progressive Congress (APC) stressing that the party does not have the interest of the zone at heart.

Nwosu spoke to newsmen in Aba posited that with a cursory look at the structure and leadership of the APC, it is evident that the party has no regard for Ndigbo.

“There is every good reason for the people of the South East to shun APC; a party which sees Igbo people as slaves. A party which no Igbo man can be found among its top ten leaders. APC does not have a programme for Ndigbo, this is why I have been warning Igbo people to run away from the APC. In APC, do you think Igbo land would be better served? Is it not the same people who deport our indigenes as if we are foreigners in the states they are controlling? Igbo people should be wiser now. We should not allow ourselves to be led by the nose. It is clear that our interest would be best protected under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration than in all these parties and individuals falsely claiming to fight for us in a bid to achieve their selfish objectives. How can a sane Igbo man be talking about APC? How will the interest of the Igbo man be protected in APC? What programme does APC have for Ndigbo? Should the name APC be mentioned in Igbo land?” he asked rhetorically.

Nwosu who is also a legal practitioner predicted that the APC may not survive the crisis which is bound to occur as a result of what he described as the peculiarities of the party.

“This contraption called APC cannot stand. An organization that doesn’t have a substantive chairman, it does not have any substantive officer as of today. They have been deceiving people; it is like people being lured into the spirit world. People going into APC should beware that they are going into spirit world; they don’t know what will happen. This is a party that has not organized a convention, they only have interim officers. APC is a party of career critics. By the time they will be called upon to present national officers, you will see the party crashing. What I’m saying that we cannot allow Nigeria to be seized by confusionists.

“There is this scenario in Sokoto, Adamawa and Kano states. The interim national leadership of APC went to Kano state to woo Gov. Rabiu Kwankwoso to join them and forgot about the foundation member and former governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau who is the engine room of the APC in Kano state. The party also repeated same mistake in Sokoto where it neglected the former governor and APC leader, Attahiru Bafarawa in favour of Gov. Aliyu Wamako. Do we even talk of the crisis over claim to leadership among Marwa, Marcus Gindiri and the defected Gov. Nyako in Adamawa state? What type of party will make such unpardonable political mistake of considering new people above founding members? It only shows the desperation of the APC leaders whose only interest is to grab power. It also shows the APC leaders as people who act before they think.

He warned the five PDP governors who defected to the APC to be ready to end their political careers as Nigerians have seen the antics of their new party.

“If the five PDP governors who defected to APC think they are now in paradise, they must be dreaming. We all know how the APC operates; have you not seen that some deputy governors and Assembly members have said they won’t follow their governors to the APC? I’m telling you that some of these defected will rush back to the PDP before the 2015 elections.
