Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Thursday dissolved the sole administrators of the 27 Local Government Areas of the state with immediate defect.
A release signed by the Secretary to Government of Imo State, Prof. Anthony Anwukah, directed the SOLADS to hand over to the Directors of Administration(DAGS) in their respective councils, adding that the hand over process must not later than 4 pm Friday, December 6.
The release said that Governor Okorocha appreciated their contribution to the Rescue Mission Agenda, saying that he would continue to call on them for the services of the state.
It was gathered that the governor had compiled a list of LGA caretaker chairmen who would later transit to become elected chairmen in the planned April 2014 council polls.
It would be recalled that Okorocha had two months ago appointed 305 LGA caretaker committee members, one from each of the 305 wares in the state, and is yet to inaugurate them.
There are strong indications that the appointment of the caretaker committee members are meant to serve as councillors in the planned April 2014 LG elections.
