Child-Rape
A suspected rapist, Samuel Chukwunyere of Amaegbu Umulolo in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State, has narrated to newsmen how he raped a 12-year old girl, Miss Ifunanya Ibe, to death.
He said he only lured the girl to his house and raped her until she lost consciousness and that he did not use her for ritual purpose.

Having discovered that the girl was dead, he said he buried the girl in his compound and fled away.

Chukwunyere said it was not his intention to kill the girl but blamed devil for his act, and begged for forgiveness.

But, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, Mr. Mahammad Katsina, who led his men and newsmen to the crime seen, said that the suspect was an unrepentant serial killer.

Mr. Katsina informed that the alleged rapist had been involved in many ritual-related cases since 2004 till the time he was arrested.

According to him, Chukwunyere’s arrest and subsequent interrogation ‘sadly revealed that after he had abducted the young girl, he took her to a very remote but deserted building where he kept her in captivity, using the opportunity to severally rape her until she died’.

He disclosed that at that turn of event, the suspect dragged the girl’s lifeless body to a deep well and dumped it.

The CP said the police went into the matter following the declaration of the girl’s disappearance by her parents on October 13, 2013.
