4 Held in Enugu Over Armed Robbery

Operatives of Uwani division of the Nigeria Police Enugu state command on 7th December nabbed four suspected armed robbery suspects that has been terrorizing Uwani and its environs especially Mary Land axis of Uwani and are on the wanted list of the operatives over their nefarious activities ranging from armed robbery amongst other vices.

It was gathered that suspects who gave their names as Arinze Ede alias Ali Harm,Victor Odoemenam,Okechukwu Ude and Ikechukwu Amadi were arrested at Mary Land axis of Uwani,Enugu state.

Further investigation revealed that the eagle-eyed operatives following the raiding of their hideout recovered from suspects,two double barrel locally made pistols loaded with three live cartridges,a nylon bag of weeds suspected to be indian hemp,the sum of N21,650,a matchet,four suspected stolen phones of various brands,two DVD and video machines suspected to have been stolen in one of their operations.

A full scale investigation has commenced into the incident.

Meanwhile the state Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abubakar Mohammed has applauded the efforts of his operatives who has been on their toes to ensure that the yuletide is celebrated in the state under a crime free platform.

Adamu called on the residents to still be partnering with the state command in the area of timely and useful information in order to further sanitize the area.

He used the occassion to warn sellers and users of fireworks,bangers and other explosives to change their ways as noise often produced by knock out as well as fireworks could be confusing to operatives and could in itself cause fire outbreak when it is thrown to a suspected inflammable area.

He however cautioned that people should be law abiding as security operatives may be compelled to embark on clampdown on persons selling and using knockouts,bangers,fireworks and other explosives in the name of celebrating the festivities.
