Anambra Guber; Apathy Trails Nov 30th Supplementary Election As APC, PDP Uphold Their Stand In Non- Participation

The Anambra supplementary election scheduled for today in 209 polling units in 16 local government areas in Anambra was greeted by poor turn out of voters in most areas.

The 16 local government areas with the number of polling booths were Idemili North 161, Ayamelum 1, Aguata 1, Anambra East 1,Anambra West 6, Anaocha 1, Awka North 2, Awka South 1, Ekwusigo 3, Idemili South 1, Ihiala 3, Nnewi South 2, Onitsha North 1, Onitsha South 17, Orumba North 4, Oyi 4.

There was however heavy security presence in idemili north and south local governments, where the Candidate of APC, Dr Chris Ngige has his strong hold.

Though the Party stated that it would not participate in the election, some of its members were seen around polling units.

In Anaocha, Igweamaka primary school, polling unit 016, aguluzoigbo members APC including the party chairman of the local government who refused to disclose his name said that they were there to monitor the process not to participate.

In polling unit 006 and 007, chukwurah primary school, Abatete, agents of the PDP and the LP were seen participating in the election.

Mrs Josephine Chukwurah and Mr Ralph Okike both party agents for PDP and LP said they were satisfied with the process so far, except that the election registered poor turn out which they attributed to the peoples disenchantment with the process.
