The governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha asked his detractors what offence his administration had committed to deserve unwarranted attacks from them.
Governor Okorocha who asked the question while inaugurating the Imo Elders Advisory committee at the government House, Owerri, explained that his only crime has been his refusal to allow the resources of Imo State to be shared by the privileged few against the interest of the majority of the people.
He said that his administration was using the resources of the state to cater for the interest of the greater majority of the state through the provision of social infrastructure that would guarantee improved standard of living.
The governor equally pointed out that he has made personal sacrifices to ensure that every Imo child has access to education by forfeiting his security vote to finance free education in the state.
Governor Okorocha however maintained that he was not in any way distracted by the many critics from detractors but said the more they critics him the more his profile kept rising.
He stated that his administration has not indebted to any bank pointing out that those who have been following the activities of his administration closely were now astonished with what has been achieved when compared with what is received from federation account as allocation. He appealed to those who engage in destructive critism to have a change of mind and support the government to build a better Imo that will be a pride to the future generation.
