Four Monarchs Congratulate Ngige On Emergence As APC Candidate

Four prime traditional rulers have sent separate messages of congratulations to Senator Chris Ngige on his emergence as APC governorship candidate.
They include two traditional rulers from Anambra Central Senatorial District, which Ngige currently represents in the Senate and Central, one from Anambra North Senatorial District and one from the Anambra South District.
Ngige merged the candidate of the APC on Monday after trouncing the remaining contestant for the ticket, Mr God win Ezeemo.
Senator Annie Okonkwo had earlier withdrawn from the race. In a telephone message Thursday, the traditional ruler from Anambra North urged Ngige to see his nomination by his party as one close step away from returning to the government House in Awka to continue his good works.
The Monarch from an agrarian community in Ayamelum Local Government assured Ngige that his credibility will see him through, noting that ‘Anambra needs someone with a rich experience like Ngige to take the state to greater heights through investments he promised in agriculture, adding that ‘my people are ready to support a candidate that will improve their lot and create jobs in the November 16, elections’.
The monarch regretted the inability of those who claimed that Anambra North should be allowed to produce the governor in 2014 to allow the people a free chise, rather than hand-picking a candidate to give the impression that our people have takn their turn.
The two monarchs from Anambra Central are from Awka North and Anaocha. Local government areas urged Ngige in separate messages commended All Progressive Congress for opting for direct primaries, because it gave the party a chance to showcase the internal democracy in the new party.
APC is formed from the merger of ACN, ANPP, CPC, DPP and a faction of APGA led by Gov Rochas Okorocha. One of the traditional rulers invited Ngige to his palace for dinner next week.
A traditional ruler in Newel area of the state said ‘ we are one step to the glorious years of the past and it is good to see a day like this come through’ adding : ‘I see no reason why you should not be the next governor of Anambra State ,but as usual, we have to wait on God’.
Meanwhile Ngige Campaign has paid the sum of N1million to the government of Anambra State in response to the levy of that sum imposed by the state government on governorship candidates prior to placing posters on the streets of Anambra towns.
The payment was made last week.
A source close to the campaign while confirming the payment said, Senator Ngige is not ready for any distraction from any quarters as he has attained the right mental focus for the task of governing Anambra State.
