No fewer than 300 household in wurma village of Dutse local
government area were reportedly been rendered homeless as a result of
heavy rain fall which lasted for about 12hours last night. The
rainstorm which started around 7.00pm of Sunday evening and lasted
till around 7.00am of Monday destroyed over 250 rooms and 56 houses in the area
The chairman of the council Alhaji Abdulaziz dankofa confirmed that
several families where rendered homeless as a result of that rain havoc. The local government has sent a delegation to the affected area to take the list of the affected people and
list of their families.
The council chairman added that already 300 bags of assorted grains have been distributed to the
victims as an urgent support to the families by the local government
assuring that mosquito net and medication with drugs will soon be
provided to the victim in the area. He called on the federal government
and state to come to the aid of the victims.
In the ward of the village head, wurma, Alhaji Adamu Abdu said all his
sixteen rooms were grounded and he is now taking shelter at the health
clinic quarters belongng to the doctor. The village head further stated that over five hundred families are now sleeping inside primary schools and other public buildings in
the area.
