Member representing Aba South state constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Nwogu Iheasinmuo and other stakeholders of the council has passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Theodore Orji.
The stakeholders, who meet under the umbrella of Senior Stakeholders of Aba South Local Government Area, commended Gov. Orji for his giant strides in the rehabilitation of roads, de-silting of drainages, among others.
They also observed that the governor has appointed many indigenes of Aba South Local Government to positions in his administration as well as his avowed support to handover to an indigene of Abia South Senatorial zone in 2015.
In a motion for a vote of confidence on the governor, moved by the former chairman of Aba South local government, Chief Okezie Clement Erondu and seconded by former Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Justin Ogbonna, the stakeholders unanimously agreed that Gov. Orji has brought governance closer to the grassroots with his people oriented style of administration.
“Gov.Orji has ensured a level playing ground for Abia people in his administration of the state. We pledge our unalloyed support to Gov. Theodore Orji’s leadership under the platform of our great party, PDP. We promise to work together to support the governor to ensure that the good programme of his government are sustained.”
The stakeholders meeting convened by Hon. Iheasinmuo, was attended by former political office holders and PDP chieftains from the area, amongst whom are the ex- Commissioner for Petroleum, Chief Simeon Eme; Chairman of PDP in the council, Hon. Chibuzo Nworu; Dr. Charles Nwogu; Mrs Sarah Onwuso; Chairman, Ngwa Road Market Traders Association, Chief Onwukwe Anyim and others.
