Anambra Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) reconfirms, and
hereby illustrates the official directive issued by the Interim
National Executive Committee of our mega party, that there is no state
Chairman of the party in Anambra State, neither is their any in any
state in Nigeria yet.
However, the Interim National Executive went further to single out
Anambra Stat as an exception of where the party will as a matter of
urgency emplace an executive in no distant time, owing to the coming
November 16, 2013 governorship elections.
As a first step a seven-man high-powered executive from the national
body arrived Awka on Wednesday this to begin the harmonisation of
membership of the five parties involved in the merger through
re-registration and issuance of APC party cards in the state in all
326 wards State simultaneously.
The national committee is led by the interim National Secretary, Musa
Adamu Tumsah.Other members of the committee are, National vice Chairman, South
East, Dr Ayim Nyerere; National Woman Leader, Sharon Ikeazor; National
Treasurer Sadiat Farouk (Mrs);National Youth Leader Abubakar Lado and
his deputy Mr Uzo Igbonwa.
Also in attendance is the Special Assistant to the interim National Secretary.
The harmonisation of membership will be followed by Ward Congresses,
Local Government Congress and State congress which holds on August 31,

It is therefore here stated that in line with the national directive,
the State Chairman APC in Anambra State will emerge in exactly two
weeks time on August 31, 2013.
In the interim the national registration and Mobilisation Commttee has
conferred recognition on the combined executive of the three legacy
[parties-parties joining the merger with 100% structures and
membership, whose certificates were deposited with INEC as the legal
basis for the merger-as the body recognised to take charge of
mobilisation and logistics for registration, which will be carried out
by APC members from outside Anambra State.
The combined executive is co-chaired by recognised chairmen of the
three legacy parties.
It has therefore become necessary to inform the general public on the
foregoing, and solicit the co-operation of all to the harmonised
temporary executive pending the emergence of a State Executive on
August 31, 2013.
The general public is hereby invited to ignore any other information
purported to emanate from the APC to the effect that the party
appointed one Mr Pat Orjiakor was appointed as Interim Chairman of APC
in Anambra State as APC Interim State Chairman. By its constitution
and through logic, party officials are not appointed by aspirants.
We take this chance to invite willing and disciplined members of the
Nigerian public, resident in Anambra State, who are interested in
playing an active role in the quest to uplift Anambra State to
subscribe to APC membership now in their respective wards.
As a new large party comprising ACN, ANPP, CPC, APGA and DPP, we look
forward to giving the good people of Anambra State qualitative
leadership that would ease life from March next year , when they have
voted overwhelmingly for our party on November 16,2013 gubernatorial
elections.
