Senator Annie Okonkwo of the All Progressive Congress has raised the hands
of Senator Chris Ngige before a capacity meeting of the crème of APC
leaders in Abuja still holding about now and pledged to lead the campaign
for Ngige to return to the government House in Awka.

Okonkwo who was succeeded by Ngige in the Senate in representation of
Anambra Central Senatorial District gave the emotional declaration moments
after he and another aspirant, Chief Godwin Ezeemo stepped down
unconditionally from their governorship aspiration  for 2014 acknowledging
that what lie ahead is a completion election’

Ezeemo also stepped down, acknowledging that when there  is joy in queuing
up being a man who is unarguably the candidate to beat in this election,
all of us plying our role’

Before now the three were the only visible contenders for the governorship
ticket which primaries scheduled for September 2, 2013, would become mere
formality.

With this development APC ‘s has entered the race to return good governance
to Anambra State with as a solid and united block and revving on six
cylinders.

APC thanks the supporters of all the aspirants for putting up a spirited
and civil campaign thus far and for aggressively propagating the name of
the party to all nooks and crannies of Anambra State as reflected in the
outcome of the recently concluded first phase of membership harmonisation
and registration of new members.

We take this opportunity to remind those who put out the false claim that
APC called INEC voters to a centre and registered them ,that such  gutter
snipping and hollow propaganda  carried out against  our grade one
aspirants ,in fear by those least qualified to do so, based on what is know
of their morality was the reason *Ndi Anambra* willingly trouped out in
anger to  enlist with APC .

We assure them good that their confidence is well placed and once more urge
them to take advantage of the on-going voter review exercise to secure
themselves the right to vote out a government controlled by a party that
disqualifies the contenders, leaving the pretenders.
