Oganiru Ndigbo Foundation, ONF and Igboville which is the online interactive version of ONF have called on the managements of the Abia Transport Company Ltd, Operators of Abia Line and the Imo Transport Compnay, ITC to embrace the most peaceful means to resolve the crisis that is facing both state-owned transport companies.
Oganiru Ndigbo Foundation/Igboville is a group of professionals from different fields of endeavour, young men and women burning with the zeal to uplift Igboland and with the right mentality and humility to contribute their quota towards positive growth of our region.
Speaking with us yesterday, the President General of Oganiru Ndigbo Foundation, Architect Uche Onuh L. regretted that such minor disagreement between two sister states would be allowed to degenerate to a level where the transport companies of both states were banned from operating in either of the states.
Mr. Onuh reminded the managements of both companies that the sub-regional economic integration that is gradually taking root in the other 5 geo-political zones of Nigeria may remain illusory in the South East zone if immediate steps are not taken to resolve this minor brotherly misunderstanding between Abia and Imo states.
The President General went further to state that, for whatever it is, his group joins other stakeholders to appeal for circumspection and understanding in the handling of this matter as anything to the contrary may be misread by the teeming population of Igbo youths and also capable of creating enmity between the two sister states.
Finally, Mr. Onuh on behalf of the Oganiru Ndigbo Foundation/Igboville made a passionate appeal to the Governors of both states to intervene without further delay in resolving this brotherly misunderstanding between the two states so that the transport companies will resume their normal operations in both states as our compatriots from the other geo-political zones are watching us, and stated that “NEVER AGAIN should such a thing happen in any South East state”
