Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has described the death of Senator Pius Ewherido, representing Delta Central Senatorial District as a rude shock.
The Governor in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary said “News of the death of Senator Pius Ewherido came as a rude shock. He had served his people with all his resources and energy and his death has robbed Delta State and indeed the nation of a bright young mind.
Ewherido truly distinguished himself in the Senate with his incisive contributions to debates and will be sorely missed not only by his Constituents but also by others who have come to love his style.
My last official interaction with the distinguished Senator was during his visit to Edo State, as a member of the Senate Committee on Education which went round the state to access the state of our schools, and gave a very positive report on their evaluation of our contributions in the education sector.
I commiserate with my brother, the Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Government and the people of the State on this unfortunate death. I also condole with the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark and other distinguished Senators on the death of their colleague and friend.
I pray the Almighty God to grant the family of the late Senator the fortitude to bear this very painful loss. May He also grant the deceased peaceful rest in His bosom.
