Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that Chief Victor Umeh has been named the authentic Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA]. The ruling came at the federal court of appeal today at munities after 10am. The Enugu division of the court of appeal nullified the judgment of the Enugu high court which sacked Victor Umeh as the national chairman of the APGA. This judgment has finally sealed the hope of Gov. Peter Obi to regain the control of APGA .
Chief Victor Umeh and the Peter Obi faction of the APGA had been engaged in a long drawn out battle for the chairmanship of the party. It led to the sacking of Chief Victor Umeh from the party – following a midnight convention held by the Peter Obi faction of the party – where Maxi Okwu was supposedly elected the new chairman. A state high court in Anambra later rectified the chairmanship of Maxi Okwu.
247ureports.com reached out to Chief Victor Umeh for comments for he momentarily refused to speak citing that he was at home – filled with well wishers and other guests. He promised to make a statement later in the day.
Chief Victor Umeh is said to be preparing to head to Nnewi to the home of Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu to officially present his victory to the father of the party. Our indicates that the APGA Chairman will also visit the grave site of the late Ikemba.
