No fewer than thirty seven [37] people were killing on Tuesday in an early morning attack on the people of Agatu in Nasarawa State by armed men from across the border in Benue State. Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that mostly Agatu were killed “by armed men from the neighboring state”.
As gathered, not less than 37 lives, and properties worth in the millions of naira were destroyed in the early morning raid. Already the residents of the affected area have started evacuating the area for safety.
Governor Al Makura confirmed the high number of deaths while receiving members of All Farmers Association (AFAN) at the Government. He expressed shock and promised to take the necessary steps to quell the upheaval.
