Arthur Eze endorses Ifeanyi Ubah as Anambra state Governorship Candidate

Chairman and Chief Executive of Capital Oil and Gas limited , Dr Ifeanyi Ubah yesterday received political blessings from a business Magnet and Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain in Anambra state, Prince Arthur Eze as the most reliable person to govern Anambra state in 2014.

Dr Ubah was in a meeting for hours on reasons why he wanted to govern Anambra after both left the Synod premises of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion of Awka diocese holding at St Maryโ€™s Anglican Church Ukpo.

Eze having been convinced on Ubahโ€™s genuine intentions for Anambra endorsed him as the Governor in waiting.

Newly appointed Chief Press Secretary to Capital Oil , Mr Tony Ibekwe Jnr told newsmen that Dr Ifeanyi Ubah was endorsed by Chief Arthur Eze after the meeting at Ezeโ€™s residence.

โ€˜โ€™I am glad to announce to you that after several hours of meeting with Chief Arthur Eze , an oil magnet too, a true son of Anambra state has accepted the vision and mission of Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.

โ€˜โ€™He was convinced that Ubah meant well for Ndianambra and having done great as a businessman, he is prepared to take Anambra state to the next stage sequel to his track records.

Eze was quoted as saying that Ubah has empowered Anambra people young and old, youths and women in hundreds and if given opportunity he is coming to empower more with government resources and not to plunder it. ย 

โ€˜โ€™Eze saw his plans on the health sector, education, agriculture, science and technology and environment to mention but a few and decided to give him his full support to govern Anambra state.

The Nation reported that Chief Arthur Eze had earlier at the Church service announced that nobody would govern Anambra state without his anointing.

Speaking at the Ninth synod of the Anglican Diocese of Awka holding at the home town of Prince Arthur Eze at St Maryโ€™s Anglican Church, Ukpo, Prince Eze said he has the mandate of the Presidency.

โ€˜โ€™ Whoever I said that would be Governor will be Governor because the President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has assured me that whoever I anoint to be Governor will be Governor of Anambra state. Donmt mind these people, they are all โ€˜โ€™thievesโ€™โ€™ and donโ€™t have the interest of the poor masses at heart.

โ€˜โ€™I am the person to say who will Govern Anambra state because most of these people you see are not interested in the welfare of the people. I have been supporting the projects in the church and I am donating N10 Million for the Resource Center and will still donate another N10 Million as work progresses.

The Synod at Ukpo was a fund raising session for the N500 Million Awka Diocesan Youth Center aimed at generating over 50,000 jobs in Anambra state to be located at Ukpono, Awka South local government area.

Governor Peter Obi reminded Anambra people to pray for the state and mostly for a good successor as only God knows who will govern Anambra state, adding that any mistake would be regretted.

Earlier the over Twenty Bishops at the ceremony led by the host Bishop of Awka , Dr Alexander Ibezim prayed for Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state ; Dr Ifeanyi Ubah of capital Oil and Gas and Dr Andy Uba of the Senate concerning their plans for Anambra state. Most Reverend Paul Udogu led the prayer session.

Dr Ifeanyi Ubah of capital oil and gas who led overwhelming supporters to the synod raised over 80 Million for the Resource Center including his initial donation of N60 Million. He assured the Church of Nigeria Anglicanย  Communion that he would continue to support them and their activities.

In his sermon, Most Reverend Joseph Akinfenwa reminded Christians that everybody has a role to play as a leader in the Church to maintain its sacredness. He reminded that if Christians segregate roles that, it would be difficult for the Church to grow.

Akinfenwa who described the theme of the synod ,โ€™โ€™The Great Commission โ€“Imperatives , Implications and challenges for Church Leadership as apt, encouraged Christians to rise to the challenge of praying for the country, adding that faith, courage and evangelism should be their watchword.

The synod raised more than N200 Million as Ukpo community led by Engr. Gibson Okeke who retired from Shell and Prince Arthur Eze donated N25 Million, Diocesan women donated N4.5 Million, Governor Peter Obi , N31 Million , Dr Ifeanyi Ubah over N80 Million among others.

Senator Andy Ubah in his speech appealed to people to have restraint as only God Almighty knows who will govern Anambra state in line with what Governor Peter Obi rightly pointed out.

Former Ambassador to Austria, Jerry Ugokwe reminded that he is in the race to govern Anambra and should not be underrated since what is worth doing is worth doing well.
