The Governors of APC under the aegis of coalition of APC Governors lead by Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo State has condemned in its entirety the unwarranted harassment on the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
This disclosure was made at a press briefing after the meeting of the Governors in Owerri, while speaking through their spokes man Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State. The group said that they were concerned about certain development in the polity in the recent past and therefore condemns what was going on in Rivers State.
“We therefore condemn the open assault on the Governor of Rivers State, our view is that a government under a democratic system cannot be arbitrarily harassed or intimidated out of office. We call on the federal government to stop the unwarranted harassment of the sovereignty of the nation.”
The Governor revealed that the meeting reviewed the progress of the merger of ACN, CPC, ANPP and APGA into APC and expressed delight about the progress so far made on the merger and assured Nigerians that, the platform that will give Nigerians alternative government is on course; and therefore called on all their party members to guide themselves properly as PDP was trying to destroy the plan of the parties to merge.
Comrade Oshiomole noted the massive developmental strides going on in Imo State under the Rescue Mission government of Governor Rochas Okorocha in the last 2 years, and expressed the solidarity of the APC Governors to the people of Imo State on the 2nd anniversary of Imo Freedom Day.
They also expressed condolences to the people of Ekiti State on the death of their former Deputy Governor Mrs. Fumilayo Olayinka, and prayed God to give the family and state the fortitude to bear the loss.
