3billion was offered to Lawmakers for my impeachment, Okorocha says

LEGISREPORTS NG – Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has restated an allegation by speaker of the state house of assembly that members of the legislature were offered 3billion naira to impeach him from office.

The governor said the 3billion plot was hatched by some persons in concert with the elder brother of the impeached deputy governor of the state, Mr. Jude Agbaso.

Briefing a cross session of Imo people at Ahiajoku Convention Centre, New Owerri, on Tuesday on his two years in office, he accused an unnamed wealthy man whose house in orifitte, Anambra State, was the venue of the plot of being part of the plan to impeach him.

Said he: “Some persons in connection with the elder brother of the former deputy governor wanted to bribe some house members with N3 billion to impeach me, it was at Orifete, Anambra State.”

The governor also alleged that about 87 petitions have been written against him to the presidency and anti -graft agencies with the mission to unseat him, stating they would not make him lose focus.

He said he would soon dissolve his cabinet comprising Commissioners, stating that the move is to reinvigorate his administration to serve Imo people better.

According to Okorocha who spoke on several issues traversing politics and his achievements, he said a bill on Heroes Villa would soon be sent to the assembly.
