Abia state Commissioner of Police, Usman Abubakar has called on individuals, communities and the general public to cooperate with the police in fighting crime in the state by giving useful information that would help the police work efficiently and urged Abians to expect a new change in police performance in the state.

“The public should provide useful information to the police. This is the only way we can work efficiently, we are not spirits; people should report criminals and their activities. The CP stated his readiness to chase criminals out of the state as well as pursue vigorously the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar’s transformation agenda geared towards restructuring and restoring the image of the force which has been severed by bad eggs within the Force.

“I will ensure that the IGP’s agenda of transforming the Nigerian Police is fully implemented. If the public sees any sign of bad conduct among my men, let them get the number and name of the police officer and forward it to me. My phone number is everywhere. I want to ensure that people will go to their normal duties without any hindrance or fear of being kidnapped,” he said.

The CP while appreciating the drop in crime rate in the state added that the police would continue to partner with sister security agencies to sustain the fight against criminals.
