Information available to 247ureports.com reveals that the Police in Kano State have made arrests following the attack on the Primary School in Kano. According to the information received, the police arrested some suspects on the afternoon of March 12, 2013 believed to be responsible for the attack on Dan Maliki primary school in Kumbotso Local Government Area [LGA].
Police sources state that Jihadist operatives invaded the primary school on Tuesday morning. They rode on motor bikes [okada] – as they opened fire at the school.
Magaji Majia, the police spokesperson confirmed the arrests of Jihadist suspects. He added also that contrary to media reports, no lives were lost as a result of the attack.
In his words, “some arrests have already been made and the suspects are undergoing interrogation to give more clues on the hideout of the criminal. The Command has dispatched a special squad into the area. The Joint military Task Force is also on ground. We urge residents to move about their businesses and report any suspicious movement through the lines we have made public. As you are aware, no life was lost during the attack; and those affected are in stable condition,”
The police spokesperson clarified that about four people [believed to be teachers] sustained bullet wounds including the primary school Headmaster. He added however that all four were receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. “Their injuries are not life threatening”. The identities of the injured are not readily available.
