The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State will today, Friday, flag-off campaigns for the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area. In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, George Ukwuoma-Nwogba, the State Chairman of the ruling party, Chief Godspower Ake, MFR, who will launch the campaign at the Council headquarters, will also present flags to the chairmanship and councillorship candidates, respectively, urging the party faithful to turn out in their large number.

The State Publicity Secretary further stated that the campaign kick-off will be another avenue for the Peoples Democratic Party to present its score sheet of achievement to the people of the local government. While thanking them for their confidence in the ruling party in previous elections, Ukwuoma-Nwogba urged them to further strengthen that confidence come March 3, 2013.

“The PDP holds the welfare of the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area in priority.  Ours is to deliver to them the dividends of democracy at the grassroots, the more reason why the PDP had chosen credible candidates for the General Election. What we have for the council polls is the best team and no doubt exists that they are ready and willing to serve,” Ukwuoma-Nwogba added.

While congratulating the candidates, Ukwuoma-Nwogba enjoined them to see their emergence through keenly contested primaries as for the entire party. “Much is expected from you both by the party and the people,” the PDP State Publicity Secretary asserted.

The State Publicity Secretary praised Chief Ake on his fatherly and unifying role in the PDP in Rivers State, wishing the Chairman and party faithful a successful campaign.
