17 civilians die in Sudan attack

At least 17 civilians have been killed in a militant attack on Sudan’s South Kordofan state.

The locals were attacked at Abu Nuwara, about 80 km from the border with South Sudan.

South Kordofan is seeing fierce fighting between the government troops and People’s Liberation Movement-North, a breakaway group which has ruled the South since independence in July 2011.
