Imo state government has entered into an agreement with a
non-governmental organization (NGO) known as Carter Foundation owned
by the former American President, Mr. Jimmy Carter on the area of
education.
The state governor, Owelle Rochas while addressing a mammoth crowd at Imo Airport on his return from an economic trip to USA, said the state
government would partner with the Carter foundation to develop some
specific areas in the education sector.
Owelle Rochas Okorocha, further disclosed that he visited Miami where
he had a meeting with the Miami-Dade College Institute where people
are trained to manage hotel business to enable the institute train Imo
indigenes in tourism and hotel management.
Governor Okorocha also stated that he visited Washington DC where he
addressed the black congressional caucus on how to utilize the
abundant gas in the state to generate electricity.
He also informed Imolites that he had a meeting with one of the
leading movie stars in the world, Mr. Isiah Washington on how to
develop the Oguta Blue Lake of Treasure to a film village.
He also promised Imolites that at his 50th Birthday that he would
complete all the ongoing developmental projects he started in the
state, such as the construction of 305 primary schools, the completion
of 27 general hospitals and complete all the road projects as soon as
the rains are over.
