Delta Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, to deliver Business Hallmark PPF lecture
Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan will deliver the August
edition of Business Hallmark Newspaper’s Public Policy Forum lecture
on Friday, August 24, 2012.
Unlike the previous lecture series organised by Business Hallmark
Newspaper, the 10th issue of the Forum will hold at the Unity Centre,
Government House Asaba, by 10.30am prompt. The chief Executive Officer
of Delta State will speak on: “Niger Delta: Beyond Resource Control,
Burdens and Realities of Transformation”.
Chairman of Business Hallmark Public Policy Forum, Ambassador (Prof.)
George Obiozor, in a statement issued in Lagos explained that the
choice of Dr. Uduaghan as guest speaker was influenced by the theme of
the lecture which dwells on the realities of development that
confronts the Niger Delta region. The statement also added that Dr.
Uduaghan’s positions on the broad socio-political issues of the Niger
Delta region makes him best suited candidate for the lecture.
Ambassador Obiozor recalled that the development of the Niger Delta
region and Nigeria at large, have been of paramount concern to Dr.
Uduaghan, whose tenure in office as the Executive Governor of the
state has witnessed tremendous achievements. Giving an insight into
the lecture, the erudite Professor of International Affairs said, “Dr.
Uduaghan is expected to examine critically the Niger Delta problem,
the issue of resource control and the challenges of development in the
region devastated by environmental degradation”.
The Business Hallmark Public Policy Forum is a civic outreach
programme set up by Business Hallmark Newspaper to provide a credible
platform for Nigerians to articulate their views on diverse
socio-political, economic, cultural and religious issues. This medium
intends to create an enhanced social awareness and education for
millions of our country men and women, Obiozor said.
Due to the prime importance of the lecture, two sitting Governors will
be at the event. While His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwabo,
Executive Governor of Gombe State is the special guest of honour, His
Excellency Hon. Henry Seriake, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State
will be the chairman of the occasion.
