Bauchi State Ministry of Health has sealed off the premises of Aminchi Clinic and suspended the operating license of the clinic pending the outcome of investigations into allegation of professional misconduct levelled against its owners.
While sealing up the Clinic, State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Sani Abubakar Malami declared that the action followed a complaint from one Abubakar Buba against the clinic that two of his kidneys were allegedly removed by personnel of the Clinic during a surgery operation performed on him.
A press release from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ishola Michael Adeyemi contained that the Clinic which is situated on Yakubu Wanka Street within Bauchi metropolis was sealed up yesterday, Sunday to enable the investigative panel set up by the government over the allegation perform its duties and submit report for action.
The Health Commissioner who led other officials of the Ministry under heavy security advised all the patients presently receiving medical attention to vacate the premises in line with the relevant laws governing medical practice in the country explaining that it is in their own interest to do so .
He however assured that each of the persons complained against will be given a fair hearing during the sitting of the panel after which he said anyone indicted will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws regulating medical practice in the country adding that if at the end the allegation was not proven against them the premises will be unsealed to go back to operation.
