Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has described the death of Alhaja Sikirat Ajimobi, mother of the Oyo State, Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as not only as a loss to the family but to the entire people of Oyo State. Oshiomhole stated this yesterday when he paid a condolence on the Governor in Ibadan.
According to him “I am here to condole with you on behalf of the government and people of Edo state the passing into glory of your mum.
“I believe that your mother lived a good life and it was a life well spent and we can only join millions of others to pray to Almighty God to forgive her whatever sin she might have committed as a human being and grant her eternal rest”.
Oshiomhole prayed “may Almighty God strengthen you and other members of your family and give you the fortitude to bear the loss.
“Whatever you have accomplished in life is due to your mum’s efforts and I believe wherever she is , she would be happy.” Responding , Governor Ajimobi thanked Edo State governor for the visit.
He said “I believe your coming is a huge deposit to my emotional bank account.
“My mother was an epitome of humanity. She will virtually kneel down for everyone. My mother was godly and religious and she prayed that even if I were to be governor for one day, she would like to witness it.
Ajimobi added: “I congratulate you on your hard won landslide victory in the governorship election. You have encouraged many of us who never believed in godfather, brigandage, subterfuge and perfidy.
“You have put paid to those who are the promoters of those vices”, he added.
