The flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last Saturday election in Borno state Alhaji Gambo Lawan has reject the governorship results saying election was marred with wide spread irregularities .
Gambo who briefed the press in his maiduguri residence also stated that the state governorship elections was earlier agreed by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner and ‎representatives of political parties to hold on Sunday, 12 April, omission of the logo of Labour party but was surprised the election was conducted by INEC
‎”There was no election in Borno. I totally reject the results because the scores were just allocated to a party. Many of our agents did not sign the results,”
” I will like to express my dismay that the conduct and process of the governorship /state house of Assembly elections in Borno state was fouth with wide spread violence, thugerry, intimidation, harassment, blackmail, massive rigging‎, monetary inducement and widespread irregularities”
The PDP governorship candidate also denied collecting N250 million from the Governor, Kashim Shettima before the election, challenging the governor to come open to deny or confirm the allegation. He also said the rumour that PDP does not have a candidate by on the eve of the election was orchestrated by the state government under APC.
He therefore call on his supporters to remain calm as measures to address the election irregularities are already put in place.
