Katsina, Nigeria — September 13, 2026

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has welcomed the return of former Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Dr. Mustapha M. Inuwa, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a boost to the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking Sunday at a reception organized by the Zawiyyah Foundation at Capital Hall, Katsina, Radda said politics should be driven by public service and responsibility rather than personal gain, noting that citizens had become politically conscious enough to assess the intentions and track records of those seeking their support.

The governor described his relationship with Inuwa as spanning more than three decades, tracing back to the administration of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Inuwa’s leadership of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Katsina in 2011. He said his administration was not in conflict with elders or political stakeholders and remained open to working with those committed to the state’s progress, urging APC members to treat the party as one political family and avoid actions that could weaken its collective interests. Radda also called on members to work toward victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in 2027, from the national level down to the grassroots.

Inuwa, describing the APC as his political home, said his return reflected decades of political engagement and a longstanding relationship with Radda that evolved through the governor’s earlier roles as Chief of Staff and Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). He pledged his full support to the Radda administration.

“We do not have time for anything that will undermine our collective interest. Our concern should be how to win elections and ensure the success of the APC,” Inuwa said.

Director-General of the Zawiyyah Foundation, Hon. Hamisu Idris Kofar Bai, said the reception was organized to formally welcome Inuwa back and recognize his political contributions to the state, citing the Radda administration’s security and agricultural interventions, including the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and fertiliser distribution programmes to farmers.

Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, member representing Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency, spoke on the political evolution of Katsina State and the contributions of past administrations.

The event was attended by Hon. Aminu Balele, member representing Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency, members of the Katsina State Executive Council, senior government officials, local government chairmen, and other political leaders and dignitaries.
