AWKA, NIGERIA — The peaceful community of Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State—the hometown of prominent political figure Peter Obi—has been plunged into deep mourning and psychological trauma following the gruesome murder of an elder, Mr. Benjamin Onyeka.
The octogenarian was allegedly attacked, butchered, and mutilated by his own biological son inside their family compound in Amigbo Village.
The Midnight Discovery
The horrific incident reportedly occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. According to terror-stricken neighbors and community leaders who raised the alarm, the suspect launched a violent assault on his aging father under circumstances that remain a subject of deep police interrogation.
The village was thrown into absolute chaos on Wednesday morning when local responders breached the property only to discover the lifeless body of Mr. Onyeka lying in a pool of blood.
A closer examination of the remains revealed a chilling level of ritualistic or psychopathic mutilation: the victim’s scrotum had been entirely severed, and his pubic hair completely shaved off by the assailant.
Police Intervene As Suspect Is Apprehended
To prevent an immediate outbreak of jungle justice by an infuriated mob of local youths, operatives attached to the Anaocha Divisional Police Headquarters swiftly mobilized to the crime scene.
