Determined to ensure strict compliance to standard and quality of ongoing projects in Anambra state, Governor Charles Soludo has set up Project Evaluation And Monitoring Unit engaging citizens of host Communities in areas those projects are being executed.
This is in quick response to unsubstantiated allegations alleged to be coming from those regarded as fifth columnists who according to government have chosen to play politics with the homongus projects currently going on in the state .
To this end online platforms have been designated for citizens to understudy and and monitor the quality or works being done in their areas and report same to the unit for investigation and appropriate actions .
According to the Special Adviser to Soludo on Special Projects and Director Project Monitoring and Evaluation Professor Ebuka Nwankwo, the Unit is designed to make Anambra people to take charge of projects in their respective Towns and local government areas.
“It is the wisdom of Mr Governor that our people should take charge of projects in their communities and this serves as a feedback to the state government”
“It is also a platform for people to ventilate their views over the activities of contractors and the quality of works being done in the state and our WhatsApp number is 07044915284 and it is not for calls but for massages and more numbers would soon be made public for people to access”
“Those projects are for the people and it beholves on them to interface with government on the progress of work in the state in order to serve the people better”
Nwankwo further noted that ;
“Our goal is to maintain the highest standard of quality and Intergrty in all our ongoing projects”
“We believe that individuals and Communities are critical stakeholders in our projects and we want to continue hearing from them ”
He noted that the Unit would always listen to the concerns about any of these projects and inform the relevant Ministry or Agency so that these concerns can be investigated adding that government shall maintain confidentiality of the contributors .
