National Police Day: Anambra Command Holds Walkathon to Boost Fitness

Operatives and management team of the Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday took to the streets of Awka in a coordinated fitness walk, as part of activities to herald the 2026 National Police Day celebration, as well as promote healthy living among the cops.

The exercise which formed the second day of the ongoing commemorative events, featured active participation of senior officers, rank-and-file personnel, and members of the public, who joined in solidarity to demonstrate unity and shared responsibility for a healthier society.

Announcing this a press statement issued to newsmen, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the walkathon commenced from the Command Headquarters and traversed major routes within the state capital, reflecting the Command’s commitment not only to operational efficiency but also to the physical and mental well-being of its personnel.

The PPRO, while highlighting the benefits of the exercise, further appreciated residents and stakeholders who participated in it, while also reassuring Ndi Anambra of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
