Frontline ADC aspirant for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, has warmly welcomed the defection of Rt. Hon. Engr. Chukwudi Orizu, former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Although Ikebunwa was unavoidably absent due to an important engagement outside the South-East, he has joined other party stakeholders in welcoming the former lawmaker into the ADC, a party steadily positioning itself as a formidable opposition force in Nigeria’s political landscape.

In his remarks, Amb. Ikebunwa described Engr. Orizu as an astute politician and a respected leader with proven capacity and a wealth of experience. He noted that Orizu’s entry into the party is a significant boost that will strengthen the ADC’s structure and enhance its chances in the forthcoming general elections.

He added that Orizu’s decision to join the ADC sends a strong message to the opposition, reaffirming the party’s seriousness and commitment to its mission of national transformation. According to him, Orizu’s political network, experience, and influence will greatly benefit the party, not only within Nnewi but across the state and beyond.

The event witnessed a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, drawing the presence of several notable political figures and stakeholders, including Chukwuma Nwosu, former ADC Gubernatorial Candidate in the last Anambra State governorship election, Chukwudi Ofodile, Nnewi North LGA, ADC Chairman, Kingsley Obiukwu and other prominent personalities, reflecting the growing momentum of the ADC in the region.

It will be recalled that Ikebunwa recently announced the forthcoming inauguration of the Good Governance Initiative (GGI) structures across Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo, including local government and ward executives. The inauguration, scheduled to hold on April 11 at Anaedo Hall in Nnewi, is expected to attract significant attention and further consolidate the party’s grassroots presence in the state.

The Good Governance Initiative has already gained recognition as one of the most organized and impactful political movements within the ADC since its emergence, and it is projected to play a critical role in the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
