KAURA NAMODA — A fierce firefight is currently underway in Kungurki village, Zamfara State, as security forces and local vigilantes struggle to repel a massive incursion by armed bandits. The attack, which began in the late hours of Sunday and has stretched into the early morning of Monday, April 6, 2026, has thrown the entire Kaura Namoda axis into a state of panic. Sources on the ground report that the sound of heavy gunfire and sporadic explosions has characterized the night, with many residents trapped in their homes.
Local intelligence suggests that this is no random hit-and-run. The raid is reportedly a “revenge mission” led by a notorious bandit kingpin whose commander was recently captured and beheaded by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
