High Chief Ben Obi Igwe, popularly known as Mbuze Agulu, has issued a strong call for women in Anambra State to take a more active role in politics following the latest administrative appointments by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
The APGA chieftain described the governor’s second-term team as a “new era” for the state, specifically highlighting the historic appointment of Ms. Chiamaka Nnake as Anambra’s first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Mbuze Agulu praised Soludo as a “sagacious national leader” and a “gender-sensitive governor” who is intentional about moving the state toward a more prosperous future. He urged women to stop “shouting from the background” about marginalization and instead embrace the incentives provided by the party to enter the political arena.
“I promise as one of the elder statesmen in the party to plead with the hierarchy to grant more politically interested women enabling encouragement,” he stated. “The king has spoken.”
The High Chief’s endorsement comes as Soludo begins his second term with a focus on inclusion and professional competence within the state executive council.
